New head chef Aimee Patel had stints at Morimoto, Per Se and other sought-after culinary hot spots

Skytop Lodge announced today that its Lakeview Dining Room is now open to the public, offering dinner seasonally Tuesdays through Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. Lakeview’s new chef Aimee Patel comes to Skytop with extensive culinary experience, having worked under acclaimed chefs like Masaharu Morimoto at his namesake restaurant.

The restaurant offers a breathtaking view of one of Skytop’s lakes as well as the Lodge’s award-winning golf course. Drawing inspiration from regional cuisine, the menu offers something for everyone. Patel has enhanced the Lakeview Dining Room experience with the menu that she has created, bringing fresh and local ingredients with seasonality.

Patel is originally from East Stroudsburg, Pa., and began working in restaurants around the Poconos from a young age. After realizing her passion for the culinary arts in high school, she decided to pursue a career by attending the The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia. After her classical training, she worked in restaurants in the Philadelphia and New York areas under chefs including Morimoto, Jose Garces at Amada and Thomas Keller at Per Se in New York City.

“We’re thrilled to bring someone of Aimee’s caliber here to Skytop,” said Jeff Rudder, Skytop Lodge’s general manager. “Having studied under such esteemed chefs in Philadelphia and New York City, she has already shown incredible creativity and will certainly elevate our Lakeside Dining Room as the premiere dining hot spot in the Poconos.”
