At last week’s Rotary Club meeting Dr. Pat Kennedy (right), BWA President presented Paul Conforti, Rotary Club, President Elect (left) with a plaque commemorating the city’s affiliation with the BWA.

By becoming members of the BWA, the Rotary will be supporting the efforts of the BWA to help maintain the quality of our waterways. Pat Kennedy, President of the BWA commented, “The BWA is pleased with Rotary club’s support by becoming a formal partner in our Stream Watch effort. Commitment of this type helps support the water testing costs associated with the efforts of our volunteer Stream Watchers. It is wonderful that they recognize the importance of the association’s mission.”

The Brodhead Watershed Association is a non-profit environmental organization formed in 1989.  BWA is dedicated to protecting and preserving water resources and the environment of the Brodhead watershed and the water quality of the Brodhead, Cherry, Marshalls, McMichael, Paradise and Pocono creeks and their tributaries. In addition, the BWA assists municipalities, residents, businesses and groups with protecting natural resources through education, workshops, seminars, public programs and stream monitoring.
