Stroudsburg, PA – On Wednesday, October 17, 2012, RW Buff Inc. was recognized for achievement in remodeling and construction at the Pocono Builders Association Awards with their wins of the awards for Remodeling Residential Interior Construction, Residential Addition Greater the $100,000 for Construction, and Remodeling Residential Bath over $15,000 for Construction.

The award for Residential Addition denotes RW Buff’s unique skill set in handling construction projects for historic Pocono properties. In this case, the homeowners of a historically registered 1906 cottage desired to add a garage and outdoor living space that seamlessly blended with the design elements of the existing home structure. RW Buff Inc. rose to this challenge by scaling the project to fit the site and repeating design elements from the home to lend continuity. Historically accurate and period materials were sourced and used throughout the project. Although the visual result is one which references a time long past, the construction components themselves are thoroughly modern and energy efficient.
Assisting customers in realizing their vision for their home is a hallmark of RW Buff Inc.’s projects and the home receiving the award for Remodeling Residential Interior Construction is a true example of that. This project required an entire interior renovation of a 1958 custom designed mid-century modern home after it was damaged when a broken pipe resulted in devastating water and mold damage. Maintaining the character of the home was vitally important to the owners, as was the desire to update yet preserve its most special features. Renovations completed by RW Buff Inc. included redesigned tile bathrooms with custom showers, a remodeled bar and billiard room, and matching wainscot and trim, in addition to new windows, doors, and interior trim. Extensive restorations were also completed to repair the home’s signature details including new hand finished plaster walls throughout to match the originals, refinished marble floors, and specialty cleaning of the original silk wall paper mural in the dining room and wood ceiling in the living room.
The Remodeling Residential Bath award was received for a truly transformative construction project which brought to fruition the homeowner’s dreams of creating a relaxing oasis within which they could rejuvenate themselves. The existing bathroom was completely gutted and all new mechanicals, electrical, and plumbing were installed. The highlight of the project was in the design elements and personalized accents which achieved the refined luxury desired for the space. A custom tile, marble and glass enclosed steam shower was created and tile floors and walls with green onyx accents and borders were installed to create a beautiful contrast of color and texture throughout. Other premium features included a six foot Jacuzzi whirlpool tub with marble surround, a custom double bowl vanity, and custom designed lighting system to enhance the ambiance of the space.
