Pike County, PA – Safe Haven, Inc. of Pike County welcomes a new Executive Director to their agency, Dave Bever.  For six years, Dave worked with the York County (PA) Adult Probation as a probation officer and unit supervisor. Dave also led York County’s comprehensive crime victim service agency as the Victim Assistance Center’s Executive Director.  For the last three years, Dave served as a Victim Assistance Coordinator with the Commonwealth’s Office of the Victim Advocate, helping victims of crime to understand and provide input into the complex state parole process.  For nearly ten years, Dave has worked with the PA Coalition Against Domestic Violence to train all new probation and parole officers in the Commonwealth; most recently, he coordinated a team to develop a new parole supervision protocol for domestic violence offenders.

New to Pike County, Dave is proud to be serving survivors of domestic and sexual abuse as the new Executive Director of Safe Haven, Inc. of Pike County and looks forward to becoming involved with our local agencies and the surrounding communities.  Bever stated, “Our job as victim advocates is to provide a voice for survivors of domestic and sexual violence collectively and to help individual survivors to find their own voices.  In my first few weeks with this agency, I am amazed at the commitment of Pike County to the work of Safe Haven and those we serve.”

President of the Board Sue Hines commented, “As the new Executive Director of Safe Haven; Dave’s experience, professionalism and strong leadership skills will elevate the quality of services offered by the Agency, thereby ensuring the stability and growth of Safe Haven’s future.  The Board is very pleased to have him join our dedicated staff as its leader.”
