Sen. Lisa Baker’s Hawley Office is a Toys for Tots Collection Site

Senator Lisa Baker has announced that her Eastern District Office is a collection site for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.

New, unwrapped toys can be placed in a donation box in the lobby of the office, located in the lower level, rear, of the Lake Wallenpaupack Visitors Center, 2512 Route 6, Hawley, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The toys will be accepted until Dec. 16.  At that time, a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve coordinator will pick up these toys and take them to a central storage facility where other donated toys from other area collection points will be sorted by age and gender.  At Christmas time, coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to less fortunate children in Wayne and Pike counties.

For more information regarding the program, contact Shari Tirado, the Toys for Tots coordinator for Wayne and Pike counties, at 570-253-0711.
