Successful Entrepreneur to Share Motivational Business Experiences During Lecture at ESU

East Stroudsburg, PA – Businesswoman, Danielle K. Fleming, will speak at East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Neidbala Auditorium in the Hoeffner Science and Technology Center located on Normal Street in East Stroudsburg.  Ms. Fleming will educate interested individuals about the process of entrepreneurship and expose them to a successful entrepreneurial model.  This event is open to the general public at no cost.

In addition to being a National Board Certified Counselor, Ms. Fleming is also the founder and chairman of the board for Danielle and Company, Inc., a manufacturer of contemporary natural and organic beauty care products located in Scranton, Pa.

At ESU, Ms. Fleming will share her entrepreneurship journey with the audience, specifically how she became fascinated with scents during her undergraduate psychology class, “Sensation and Perception” at Moravian College.  She will also explain how she was then motivated to start her own business developing fragrances and making her own line of scented beauty products. Her company has since become a thriving and successful business whose core mission is to study the human responses to scent and to infuse this knowledge into organic beauty care products made with the purest ingredients, and created to maintain the integrity of the eco-conscious consumer.  At the presentation, Ms. Fleming will be bringing a selection of her beauty products for the audience to try for themselves.

Ms. Fleming is the recipient of many awards including, Young Entrepreneur of the Year by Bank of America, Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the Small Business Development Center, Top 20 Under 40 Business Leaders in Northeast Pennsylvania, Small Business Spotlight Award, Top 40 Under 40 Successful Individuals in NEPA, Green Business of the Year and 2 time winner of the Pride & Progress Award for Interior Design by the Scranton Chamber of Commerce.  She has also received the United States Senate Award for Entrepreneurship from Sen. Arlen Specter and was named Top 20 People to Know in the Global Cosmetic Industry by GCI Magazine.

Ms. Fleming recently received a $49,000 innovative research grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in partnership with Marywood University to further research and commercialize a customizable scent delivery system.

Currently, Ms. Fleming also maintains a position at Firmenich, the world’s largest privately held fragrance manufacturer, as a Senior Consumer Insights Analyst.  Ms. Fleming has a B.A. in Psychology from Moravian College and an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Marywood University.  She is also pursuing her doctoral degree in Human Development at Marywood University.

Ms. Fleming’s visit to ESU is being presented by members of ESU’s department of psychology in conjunction with an “Entrepreneurship Across the Colleges” grant. “Entrepreneurship Across the Colleges” is sponsored by Research and Economic Development’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Center and the College of Business and Management, with funds provided by a grant from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
