Tannersville — On Tuesday, June 10, the Weiler Corporation and the Weiler Family Foundation will be presented with the Mattioli Philanthropy Award at the United Way of Monroe County’s Annual Meeting being held at Peppe’s Bistro starting at noon.

The Dr. Joseph and Dr. Rose Mattioli Philanthropy Award, in honor of Dr. Joseph and Dr. Rose Mattioli, recognizes an outstanding individual or an outstanding organization/business for their philanthropic work in “Uniting People and Improving Lives” through the United Way of Monroe County. Besides recognizing the recipient’s service to and support of the United Way, the award also takes into consideration the organization’s enthusiasm, leadership and professionalism in fulfilling those commitments

For more than 50 years, the Weiler Corporation, located in Cresco, Pa. has been a philanthropic leader in the Pocono Mountains community. Weiler’s 2013 employee/company campaign, titled, “Move Together, Live United” along with a corresponding Field Day was part of a two month co-worker campaign designed to promote wellness at Weiler and raise money for the United Way – providing more than $50,000.

According to Chris Weiler, President, “Weiler Corporation is proud to serve and be an advocate for many of the local community social service needs addressed by the United Way.” Weiler Corporation and the Weiler Family Foundation have been strong supporters of United Way partner agencies such as Pocono Alliance, Woman’s Resources and The Burnley Workshop. Employees of Weiler Corporation are encouraged to donate their time to support the local community and examples include: Adopt-a-Highway, Habitat for Humanity, participation in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and the JDRF Pocono Area Walk to cure diabetes.
