Delaware Water Gap, PA – On Wednesday, September 8, Shear Design Salon and Day Spa presented Women’s Resources of Monroe County with the proceeds from the Serenity Against Violence Event which was held on Sunday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Discounted haircuts and spa services were offered at the event. Shear Design donated 100% of the proceeds which totaled $2,322.
Owner Peg Zukawski said, “For the past five years we have enjoyed opening our doors to the community for Women’s Resources of Monroe County, with our Serenity Against Violence fundraiser. Giving our time and talent is something we can do to help. Many of us know individuals or families whose lives have been disrupted by domestic violence, or sexual abuse. At the end the day, my staff and I know we’ve made a difference.”
Jennifer Grube, Executive Director of Women’s Resources of Monroe County, said, “On behalf of hundreds of survivors in our community; we humbly accept this donation and the support of all the staff at Shear Design.
