Richard Kennedy, MD, Radiologist at Pocono Medical Center (PMC), was recently conferred the degree of Fellow by the American College of Radiology (ACR) at their annual meeting. ACR Fellows are members who have demonstrated exceptional service to the ACR as well as radiology practice, teaching, and/or research.

The honor of Fellow is awarded to diagnostic radiologists, radiation oncologists, and medical physicists. ACR has over 34,000 members and it is a professional organization that works to improve the health of patients and society by maximizing the value of radiology in a number of ways. These include advancing the science of radiology, improving patient services, studying radiology’s socioeconomic aspects, and encouraging continuing education for all of those in the field.

“It is important to note that only 10% of active ACR members have been awarded this prestigious honor. This further demonstrates why individuals in our region do not have to travel far to receive world class radiology care,” notes Kathleen E. Kuck, president & CEO, Pocono Health System/Pocono Medical Center.
