East Stroudsburg, PA – Kathleen E. Kuck, President and CEO of Pocono Health System/Pocono Medical Center recently announced the appointment of Jonathan Scherl, MD as Medical Director of Orthopedic Trauma. Dr. Scherl brings 15 years of experience in orthopedic trauma surgery to our community. He has worked at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey and as an Orthopaedic Hospitalist for Delphi Healthcare at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He is fellowship-trained in trauma surgery, having completed a fellowship dedicated to orthopedic trauma surgery at Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Scherl has been educated and trained at some of the nation’s top universities and hospitals. Dr. Scherl received his Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his orthopedic residency in New York City at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Scherl has published and presented in multiple national forums, including several journal articles and chapters in textbooks. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is married with three children. Dr. Scherl’s interests are his family, running, football, and reading.
