Wilkes-Barre, PAMaria Fabbrini, R.N., was recently presented with the Nightingale Award of Pennsylvania in the Clinical Practice, LPN, category.

Fabbrini received the nomination while working as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) at the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Urgent Care Center at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, a campus of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV). Since being nominated, she earned her R.N. accreditation and now provides care at GWV’s Obstetrics Department.

Nurses nominated for the Nightingale Award are recognized for providing outstanding quality of patient care, superior nursing clinical skills and extraordinary compassion.

“It is an honor for a Geisinger nurse to be nominated and receive this award,” said Margaret Hennelly-Bergin, R.N., MSN, MBA, Chief Nursing Officer for Geisinger Northeast. “The award is well-deserved, and Maria is certainly a shining example of the outstanding nurses we have throughout our organization.”
