Scavello, Brown to Hold Senior Expo on July 25


MT. POCONO – Rep. Mario M. Scavello (R-Monroe) will co-host his 10th annual Senior Citizen Expo with Rep. Rosemary Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) on Monday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pocono Mountain East Senior High School, Pocono Mountain School Road in Swiftwater.

Rep. Mike Peifer (R-Monroe/Pike/Wayne) and Sens. David Argall (R-29) and Pat Browne (R-16) and are also expected to attend.

“This annual event has become an excellent opportunity for senior citizens, their family and caregivers to investigate the services and opportunities available in our area at one convenient location,” said Scavello.  “The list of exhibitors keeps growing as we try to provide as much information as we can for the people we represent.”

All senior citizens and their families are encouraged to attend.  The expo features a Mobile Veterans Center, an identity theft seminar by the Office of Attorney General, fitness and diet presentations and entertainment by Ross the Mentalist.  The expo will include a variety of free services such as blood pressure and vision screenings, mortgage counseling, estate and tax planning, chair massages, pre-diabetes AIC testing and video otoscopy.

“I am looking forward to sharing information about the many products and services available and meeting senior citizens and their families at the expo,” said Brown.  “This is a great opportunity for seniors and their families to learn more about what is available in our communities that can help them live enjoyable and informed lives.”

More than 80 exhibitors will attend and provide free information to participants. Exhibitors will distribute brochures and answer questions about services available from various agencies.
