The Dime Bank recently donated $10,000.00 to EconomicsPennsylvania, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that every student in Pennsylvania understands essential economic and financial literacy concepts. They accomplish that through staff development programs for teachers and curriculum specialists, and providing hands on learning experiences for students through programs such an Entrepreneurship Days, Economics Challenges, Stock Market Game, Financial Fitness for Life, and Business Plan Writing, for grades K-12. Being nonprofit, they rely on contributions from the corporate and business community, individuals, and grants. The Dime Bank’s donation was made as a part of the PA Department of Community and Economic Development’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. The EITC program provides tax credits to businesses that make contributions to approved organizations in the area of education improvement and learning.
The Dime Bank has been helping customers meet their financial needs since 1905.
